This is due to the Realme Narzo 50 having an LCD screen, so the viewing angles are limited, and the colour profiles are less saturated than on standard OLED displays. Having a Kevlar Speed Texture Design (a race car-inspired design), the Realme Narzo 50 is available in Speed Blue and Speed Black. The material pattern on the Realme Narzo 50 is strikingly like that of a OnePlus device. On the rear, there's a carbon fibre-like pattern that looks pretty good in the sunlight. The rest of the aesthetic is substantially like previous Narzo phones. The phone has a side-mounted power button, a fingerprint sensor on the right edge, and a volume rocker and SIM card slot on the left. The bottom section includes a 3.5mm headphone socket, a speaker grille, and a charging port. The three-camera configuration in the back, led by a 50-megapixel f/1.8 lens, produces high-quality photographs suitable for printing and sharing on social media. The front side has a selfie camera lens in the top left corner. Being classified as a Mid Tier (€200-€499), smartphone, Realme has introduced this phone into a competitive arena. If you are looking for a smartphone powered by a Helios G96 processor, up to 6GB of RAM, and a 5000mAh battery, for daily use and gaming, then this mobile phone is an option. However, if you need a high-quality camera and 5G connectivity then perhaps consider an alternative. - New Label Announcement For 2023
What better way to start 2023 - A New ViserMark Label! It has been a very busy year at ViserMark and thank you to all of you who got in touch with feedback on how the labels have helped you understand the battery performance and which device to choose next. We do understand there is a plethora of technical information that often makes it difficult to grasp exactly how this will impact “you” with your day-to-day smartphone usage. For buyers who are looking to purchase a smartphone, the only information available to them is either the battery capacity in milliamp hours or more commonly abbreviated mAh or some endurance score that is based on a very specific usage like standby or talk time. We have also seen over the years that each manufacturer and media have their own way of assessing battery performance considering different criteria and, on some occasions, tests are performed in perfect mobile network conditions which none of us experience. But how long this device will last with real-life usage or how long it will charge? ViserMark was the first label in the world to introduce a clear metric on the Day of Use, meaning how long will this device last tested over the day and night with real-life user activities. We have now further improved the label to give you additional information on how long the device will last in hours for clearer information. Look for the new label in our reviews from January 2023. It is true that mobile phone battery technology has considerably evolved over the years and is continuing to evolve. We still see some manufacturers pursuing to make their mobile phones last longer, simply by increasing the battery life size. The larger battery will use more natural resources and the frequent charging and discharging will further deteriorate the battery. We all now understand that we need to ensure the Smartphone manufacturing industry uses more sustainable methods and is creating products that have minimal impact on the environment. ViserMark was again the first label in the world to create a label that showed the battery energy efficiency of the device. It is calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity. This is expressed in “Leaves" and reflects a rating between 1 being the least and 5 being the most power efficient. This year following the feedback we have received and our own involvement in various projects that looked to create policies on Energy Efficiency we will be introducing a new label in 2023 that will show the Annual Energy Consumption measured in kWh. For the first time, end-users will be able to see an objective benchmark across all devices on the expected annual electricity consumption their device is expected to make. We are very keen to hear your feedback regarding these new changes. Make sure you follow us on Social Media and receive our Newsletters to stay up to date with all our latest insights. Also, when scrolling up fast, the screen froze and extended usage contributed to some heating issues as well. The smartphone has no waterproof certification and is not 5G compatible although it does come with a 90 Hz screen, which can be considered a bonus. The Honor X7 is not dustproof or water-resistant, offers no NFC functionality and is not 5G. However, if you are on a tight budget and would like to replace your smartphone - this could be the device for you. From a fully charged battery, the comparative smartphones provide between 2 days to 2.5 days of battery life when being used for general daily usage. Comparison of SmartPhones in the Entry Tier Despite all smartphones having a long-lasting battery of 5000mAh, both the Nokia G10 and Motorola Moto G30 perform slightly better, gaining an extra half a day over the OPPO A57. These longer-lasting smartphones take up positions within the Top Ten for Best Battery Life Scores. See what other smartphones made it into the Top Ten, view the Days of Usage table Charging Times Battery Charging Time - How long will this Smartphone take to charge? Time varies to charge different types and sizes of Smartphone batteries. This is expressed in Hours and Minutes. We test the charging times of every device as part of our testing protocol and were impressed with the OPPO A57 delivering a fast charge in just 1 hour and 9 minutes. This means the charging time for the OPPO A57 is significantly faster than both the Nokia G10 and Motorola G30. The charging times are presented below. Comparison of SmartPhones in the Entry Tier OPPO invented and introduced fast charging with VOOC, and therefore uses this advanced technology to create incredibly efficient and fast-charging smartphones. This solution offers a significant competitive advantage when comparing charging times of similar smartphones within the Entry Tier. Often the charging times are at least doubled, as demonstrated in the chart above. Even in the higher tiers, smartphones still can not match up to such fast charging times. More Charging Times can be viewed in the Charging Times table Power Efficiency Power Efficiency - How power efficient is this Smartphone? Maximising the smartphone performance while reducing the amount of energy it consumes, with minimal impact on battery life. It is calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity. This is expressed in “Leaves" and reflects a rating between 1 being the least and 5 being the most power efficient. As expected, there is a slight difference in power efficiency results as shown here. The Nokia G10 and Motorola Moto G30 performed equally achieving a rating of 2, although the OPPO A57 slipped to a rating of 1.5 out of 5. Comparison of SmartPhones in the Entry Tier The most battery-efficient smartphones will provide good battery life and reduce the number of times the battery will need to be charged which harms its longevity. As you will appreciate all three manufacturers have dedicated research and development into implementing better battery life autonomy for their devices. More Power Efficiency Scores can be viewed in the Power Efficiency table Should I buy it? The OPPO A57 offers strong performance and delivers all the features and functionality required for a smartphone. Being impressively fast at charging, with long battery life and affordable (around €200), it may be a perfect choice for many people. Although there may be some limitations, they definitely do not overweigh all the positivity around this phone as it offers excellent value for the price.
