What are the Key Highlights of Qualcomm's New Products Unveiled at MWC 2024?

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona, Qualcomm unveiled new products, emphasising its dominance in 5G and Wi-Fi technologies while boosting its spatial computing and artificial intelligence (AI) features. The central theme across Qualcomm's significant updates was the enhanced integration of AI throughout its product range. Qualcomm has been focusing on AI for a long time, positioning it not just as a trend but as a core element that distinguishes its offerings with unique capabilities not easily replicated by rivals. This strategic focus on AI allows Qualcomm to continue its leadership in the market. It enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and developers to use its hardware platforms' advanced features fully.

 

The Snapdragon X80 is Qualcomm's latest advancement, marking its seventh iteration of 5G modems and its second featuring AI capabilities with dedicated tensor cores. It boasts an impressive maximum theoretical throughput of 10 Gbps for downloads and 3.5 Gbps for uploads. A standout feature of the X80 is its distinction as the first 5G modem to integrate NB-NTN for satellite communications, enhancing connectivity options. In the sampling phase, devices equipped with the X80 will be released in the latter half of this year.
