Battery Performance

Introduction

With a price of around 400 EURO, the Samsung Galaxy M51 is classed as a Mid-Tier smartphone in the ViserMark ranking (Smartphones priced between 200-500 EURO). The Qualcomm SMD 730G Snapdragon 730G orchestrate the smartphone.

A 7000mAh battery powers the M51 to assure high autonomy. Compared with other Mid-tier devices, a higher refresh rate is a missing feature in the M51 that allows 60 Hz.

The overall Battery Performance Score is now a global score taking calculations from Battery Life, Power Efficiency and Charging Times.

Based on the results, we have given this Smartphone a ViserMark score of 62. The Battery Performance Label, being nearer 100 indicates that it is one of the best-performing ones and has been ranked in 5th place of the best Battery Performance Smartphones as tested by SmartViser. The M51 additionally stands on the podium of Mid-Tier device's battery performance ranking just behind the Wiko View 5 Plus.

Testing Results

BATTERY LIFE - Days of Use

The Samsung Galaxy M51 reached around 82 hours of autonomy through the ViserMark test protocol with a 60 Hz refreshing rate, obtaining a Battery Life score of 3.5 Days of Use.

The average Day of Use ViserMark score of a Mid-Tier device is “2” Days. The M51 score places the Smartphone at the Top of the ViserMark Mid-Tier ranking in terms of autonomy sharing the first position with the Wiko View 5 plus.

CHARGING TIME - Hours and Minutes

The charging time to 100% was one hour and forty-seven minutes, with the 25W fast charge option included, this value is even 8 minutes slower than the 115 minutes advertised by Samsung.

The average Charging Time is 1:36 for a Smartphone within the ViserMark Mid-Tier. This score places the M51 in the middle of the charging time ranking, a higher power charger could be an option to get a faster charge considering the device’s battery size.

There are a number of power-efficient processors, within today's Smartphones, that are able to cope with the growing number of new applications and can support high-resolution displays without compromising battery life.

Power Efficiency is calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity. This is expressed in “Leaves" and reflects a rating between 1 being the least and 5 being the most power-efficient.

The Samsung Galaxy M51 achieved an overall Power Efficiency Score of 1.5, placing the device in the middle of the ViserMark ranking in terms of Power Efficiency.

Conclusion

With an overall Battery Performance Score of 62, the Samsung Galaxy M51 has reached 5th position in ViserMark ranking for being the best Smartphone with the Best Battery Performance.

Compared with other Mid-Tier Smartphones the M51 performance is just behind the Wiko View 5 Plus but superior to all other Mid-tier devices in the ViserMark ranking. It is an expected result in terms of autonomy as the M51 is housing the biggest battery in the ViserMark list.

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy M51 guarantees high autonomy given its 7000mAh battery, there are still points of improvement in terms of battery efficiency and charging time that could place a device of the same family on top of ViserMark battery performance ranking.
