OPPO Find X2 Pro viSerMark Battery Life review – June 2020
The ViserMark team were looking forward to getting their hands on the new OPPO Find X2 Pro and it has finally reached our lab where it was put under the face Battery Life test protocol.
First of all, we should admit that this is a very well-crafted smartphone from its design to its software and using its 120Hz screen is a real pleasure. The display’s high resolution and fast refresh rate powered by Snapdragon 865 make this device truly outstanding. But a 120 Hz screen usually is expected to affect the battery life quite a lot, so we were quite curious to find out how long we can enjoy using this superb device.
We set the phone to auto-screen resolution and refresh rate and let the Visermark battery life protocol give its verdict.
In this « auto » configuration OPPO Find X2 Pro did very well powered up until the afternoon of the second day. This is a very solid performance. First of all, even if you have a very busy day, and feel relaxed, the OPPO Find X2 Pro will support you all along. Then if you forget to charge it in the evening or if you are out and about without a power supply you don't need to worry as the OPPO Find X2 Pro will restart the second day at almost 50% of its capacity.
Once you plug in a power supply you will notice that 5 minutes of charging will fuel your device up to the evening, the outstanding performance of the Super VOOC 2.0 charge system. In order to verify charge performance we did a full charge and monitored it.
In less than 40 minutes the Super VOOC 2.0 can fully charge the battery. The device didn't warm up too much either as sometimes devices with fast charging systems can. Current is driven very accurately starting from more than 6A to 0 at the end.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro will provide extremely steady performance for up to more than 1.5 Days before it requires charging. If you are running low on battery and need to preserve some power the OPPO Find X2 Pro there is a solution for that. Indeed you can change the display resolution & refresh rate to force a resolution to FHD+ instead of QHD+ and a refresh rate from 120 Hz to 60 Hz. We did a short comparison of Gmail usage in both configurations and got 10% extra battery life while using FHD+/60Hz.
This can offer you additional battery life when needed. Finally, we activated dark mode and tested back our Gmail usage to see how much could be maximum performance and we have been very positively surprised to get 25% more Gmail usage time when using dark mode on 120Hz QHD+.
As usual, let’s focus on the night drain. On this topic the OPPO Find X2 Pro didn’t surprise us, draining around 4% within 8h of sleep which is a standard performance.
As conclusion, the OPPO Find X2 Pro achieves a viSerMark Battery Life score of 183. It is not a marathon runner but with the superb screen tech, it will win a half marathon.
