Test Results
BATTERY LIFE - Days of Use
Through the ViserMark test protocol, the Huawei P40 Pro obtains a ViserMark Battery Life Score of 2 Days of Use
The average ViserMark Battery Life score of High Tier Smartphones is 1.7 Days of Use, meaning this Smartphone is performing above average within its price category. This is an impressive result, positioning the Huawei P40 Pro in the Top 20 of the ViserMark Battery Life autonomy ranking.
Testing Graphics
Our testing is based on real smartphone usage from 100% battery level down to Power Off. When testing Smartphones, the testing protocol includes common daily life activities, for instance: Calls, Web, Video and Music streaming, Gaming, Social networks, Picture & Video capture and standby.
All testing is performed under strictly controlled test conditions with all activities being executed in a defined order and timeline.
Switching between 60Hz to 90Hz will not widely change battery life. 90 Hz is only turned on when necessary to improve customer experience.
We have tested P40 Pro with 2 different screen refresh rates: 60 Hz or 90 Hz, this last setting means that the smartphone will adjust the refresh rate depending on the displayed content.
As a result, we have been very positively surprised to see P40 Pro exceeding the Battery Life of 2 Days of Use ranking even with a 90Hz auto setting. When setting the refresh rate to
60 Hz then P40 Pro gives Battery Life of another 2 hours extra time, good but not changing the life. The overall score provided is an average of the two different screen refresh rates:
There are a number of power-efficient processors, within today's Smartphones, that are able to cope with the growing number of new applications and can support high-resolution displays without compromising battery life.
Power Efficiency is calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity. This is expressed in “Leaves" and reflects a rating between 1 being least and 5 being the most power-efficient.
The Huawei P40 Pro achieved an overall Power Efficiency Score of 1.5
Best Smartphone for Power Efficiency: Ranking #41
Conclusion
To conclude, the Huawei P40 Pro Battery Performance Score achieved was 51 and is higher than all other High Tier Smartphones. The Huawei P40 Pro offers a Battery Life autonomy of 2 Days of Use, with a 4200 mAh battery.
The Huawei P40 Pro Smartphone performs better than the Samsung S20 FE 5G (50) and the Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G (48). It has the same score as one of its main competitors’ Smartphones which is the Huawei P40 Pro (51).
