With a 120 Hz Fluid AMOLED screen and a faster and more powerful charge, the OnePlus 8T is the evolved version of the OnePlus 8. With the 8T, OnePlus presents the most powerful charge solution so far, the “Warp Charge 65” provides users with one-day autonomy for 15 minutes charge and a full charge in just 39 minutes. OnePlus is hailing the device as “Ultra-Fast Charging. Ultra-Smooth Scrolling’’.


The OnePlus 8T is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G mobile platform with Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF-System for a fluent 5G multigigabit connectivity. In terms of display, the 120 Hz Fluid AMOLED is rated with A+ from DisplayMate, offering extreme colour accuracy and fluent navigation.


Just like the 8 and the 8 Pro model, the 8T does not have a headphone jack, however, the OnePlus Buds Z is a wireless option specially designed to take to the next level users audio experience. In terms of design, The OnePlus 8T has a glass rear, which is protected by Gorilla Glass technology, and a metal frame that gives it a premium feel.

Battery Performance


Introduction

The OnePlus 8T is classed as a ViserMark High Tier Smartphone (between 500-699 EURO).

Replacing the OnePlus 7T model that does not support 5G Technology, the OnePlus 8T is aimed to fit between the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro.


The battery does not offer wireless charging, but the company tries to compensate with fast charging capabilities.


The overall Battery Performance Score is now a global score taking calculations from Battery Life, Power Efficiency and Charging Times.




From the OnePlus 8T test results, we have given this Smartphone a ViserMark Battery Performance Score of 51. The Battery Performance Label, being nearer 100 indicates that it is one of the better-performing ones and has been ranked in 18th place of the best Battery Performance Smartphones as tested by SmartViser.

BATTERY LIFE - Days of Use


Through the ViserMark test protocol, the OnePlus 8T battery life lasts over 48 hours and it obtains a ViserMark Battery Life Score of 2 Days of Use.


The average ViserMark Battery Life score of High Tier Smartphones is 1.7 Days of Use, meaning this Smartphone is performing above average within its price category. This is an impressive result, positioning the OnePlus 8T in the Top 20 of the ViserMark Battery Life autonomy ranking.


 

Test Graphics


Our testing is based on real smartphone usage from 100% battery level down to Power Off. When testing Smartphones, the testing protocol includes common daily life activities, for instance: Calls, Web, Video and Music streaming, Gaming, Social networks, Picture & Video capture and standby.


All testing is performed under strictly controlled test conditions with all activities being executed in a defined order and timeline.

Power Efficiency is calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity. This is expressed in “Leaves" and reflects a rating between 1 being least and 5 being the most power-efficient.

To conclude, the OnePlus 8T Smart 2021 Battery Performance Score achieved was 51 and is higher than all other High Tier Smartphones. The OnePlus 8T offers an autonomy of 2 days with a 4500 mAh battery. Compensated with one of the fastest and most powerful charging systems in the market for those who need are on the move and need a quick charge.


The OnePlus 8t Smartphone performs better than the Samsung S20 FE 5G (50) and the Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G (48). It has the same score as one of its main competitors’ Smartphones which is the Huawei P40 Pro (51).
