Battery Performance

Introduction

With a price of around 300 EURO, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro is classed as a

Mid Tier Smartphone within the ViserMark ranking classification (smartphones priced between 200-500 EURO). The Qualcomm SM7150 Snapdragon 732G processor is the heart of the smartphone, giving all the main features, except one 5G connectivity. To complete the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, it has a 5020mAh battery as chosen by Xiaomi, with a large enough battery capacity to assure enough autonomy.

The overall Battery Performance Score is now a global score taking calculations from Battery Life, Power Efficiency and Charging Times.

From Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro test results, we have given this Smartphone a ViserMark score of 46. The Battery Performance Label indicates that this is a mid-way score, and ranked in 49th of the best Battery Performance Smartphones as tested by SmartViser.

Testing Results

BATTERY LIFE - Days of Use

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Smartphone has a battery life autonomy of around 52 hours when tested using our ViserMark test protocol.

With a 60 Hz refreshing rate, this Smartphone obtained a Battery Life score of 2 Days of Use.

The average ViserMark Battery Performance score of Mid Tier smartphones is 2 Days, so this positions the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Smartphone in the middle part of the ViserMark raking table.

CHARGING TIME - Hours and Minutes

The charging time was 1 hour and 17 minutes with the 33W fast charge option, Xiaomi advertised 59% in 30 mins charging time.

Our testing is based on real smartphone usage from 100% battery level down to Power Off. When testing Smartphones, the testing protocol includes common daily life activities, for instance: Calls, Web, Video and Music streaming, Gaming, Social networks, Picture & Video capture and standby.

All testing is performed under strictly controlled test conditions with all activities being executed in a defined order and timeline.

There are a number of power-efficient processors, within today's Smartphones, that are able to cope with the growing number of new applications and can support high-resolution displays without compromising battery life.

Power Efficiency is calculated using Battery Life and Battery Capacity. This is expressed in “Leaves" and reflects a rating between 1 being least and 5 being the most power-efficient.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Smartphone achieved an overall Power Efficiency Score of 1 and therefore makes it into the lower parts of the most Power Efficiency Smartphones within the Mid Tier.

Conclusion

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro achieved a score of 46. This positions this smartphone slightly in front of other Mid Tier Smartphones like the Oppo Reno 4 5G (44), and the Sony L4 (45).

During our testing and analysing our findings, we compared the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro performance with other Mid Tier Smartphones also of similar battery size. Unfortunately, our results positioned this Smartphone in the last position of our Battery Performance Mid Tier ranking. Having only a score of 46, this is considerably lower in Battery Performance than other smartphones like the Wiko View 5 Plus (68), Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (54), Oppo A9 2020 (51).

In conclusion, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Battery Performance test results are far from our expectations. So, Xiaomi has a lot to aim for in 2021 to improve battery life autonomy for forthcoming smartphones.

ViserMark tests are performed with the strictest protocol in a controlled environment to ensure repetition and consistency powered and automated by SmartViser’s test automation solution viSer.
